Whats better about a monk primary?
Why is is better to use a 55 Monk primary vs say a 55 N/Mo? What advantages are there for farming?
I'm just debating making a 55 Monk for farming over my 55 Necro.

The Divine Favor health boost can save your behind on a primary monk and Blessed Aura shines because 55hp builds are enchantment-heavy.
On the other hand, N/Mo 55hp characters benefit from the energy from Soul Reaping and higher Necro attributes for Spoil Victor or Spiteful Spirit.

Like he said, divine favor saves your ass and allows you to tank more enemies. If you're using a skill like SoJ, you can get 4 more atts in smiting than necro. It all really depends on where you're farming, what you're farming and what your build is. I prefer monk in general.

The 55 SV or 55 SS builds obviously consist of Monk and Necro as primary and secondary attributes.
Monk primary = more survivability
Necro Primary = more damage.
The Monks divine favour boost will allow more sustainability against degen ~ especially burning ~ Ie Minister Chos hard mode solo ~ a Necro monk will find burning a serious issue.
As I find I have few if any energy problems as a 55 monk I consider the soul reaping bonus to be less important than the boost from DF. Also when running spoil victor unless you get a lucky 10% HSR from your inscribable sword/axe/spear. The enemy will always be dead before SV recharges (unless you are dealing with a boss {or an area with hex removal which ofc you should avoid}~).
I honestly feel with Spoil Victor 55hp ~ Mo/N > N/Mo.

n/mo usually stay SV/SS
while monk can have SS/SV/SOJ/renew sliver/
monk can also change to mo/me for interupt, mo/d for degen/KD....etcetc
so....monk WINS~^^

Monk also helps because u can use Spellbreaker in UW or something, necro does not have that ability because of no divine favor. Necro kills faster, monk can be used everywhere a necro can plus more.

A necro definatly deals far more damage and kills quicker hoewever,
a monk primary doesn't have to be sec necro!
a monk can take a mesmer secondary and mantra of resolve to farm area's with interruption or a dervish secondary for anti knockdown, A N/Mo won't be able to farm the raptors, solo varesh or farm vermin (or at least not the 55 way) simply becouse he'll be interrupted or knocked down.
and ofcourse a monk has a lot more means to kill than just the SS or SV from the necro

Many farming areas require using Shield of Judgement, which is useless on a necro at 12 smiting. Blessed Aura is also a great skill for 55, which necros just cant use effectivley.
I would guess that anywhere a necro can 55 farm, a 55 monk could also. Some areas maybe faster, some areas a little slower......if you want a 55 i would definatley go with monk though. Monks also have the option of choosing any secondary they want!

Necro has good Energy for 55. But the Monk has it Divine Favor which gives you Heal when you get interputed or need to keep your health up so that you can cast a spell to get rid of Degan or Dmg look at the Monk like a Inv Profession.

Survivability... their is absolutely no argument the monk is better. Of course, it all depends on 'where' you are 55ing? Sure, SV on a primary does more damage (105 vs 85?) - the question is do you want 20 more damage, or the ability to 55 everywhere the necro cannot.
